OMM vs Urban Outfitters (email 4/13/12)

Trash Your Teen's New Urban Outfitters Catalog Today!

WARNING! The April 2012 catalog from Urban Outfitters has begun arriving in home mailboxes the last couple of days. On page two of this catalog is a picture of two women kissing in a face holding embrace! The ad and catalog are clearly geared toward teenagers.

Before your child has a chance to read the newest Urban Outfitters catalog call to unsubscribe from their mailing list at 1-800-282-2200, and then throw it away. When you call be sure to let them know why you are unsubscribing. Tell them you will also no longer shop at their stores if you hear this type of advertising continues. The content is offensive and inappropriate for a teen who is the company's target customer.

TAKE ACTION
Please send an email letter urging Urban Outfitters to discontinue this ad and immediately stop the circulation of the catalog with the two women kissing or you will make a conscious effort to shop elsewhere. Also, suggest they refrain from using this type of advertising in the future. An apology statement from the company for sending an offensive catalog to people's homes would be appropriate and appreciated by customers and families as well.

 Sincerely,

"Progress" with GCB claims OMM! (email from 4/11/12)

Progress with 'GCB'

Keep up the great work! Almost every single sponsor that OMM contacted last week decided not to sponsor this week's episode of "GCB." Reebok, TurboTax (Intuit), Old Navy, Olive Garden, Macy's, and McDonald's have pulled their ads from the Christian-bashing ABC program. Their ads were not present in the most recent episode. Subway is the only sponsor that kept their ads running so we will contact them again this week.

OMM is outraged with ABC's program "GCB" which is blasphemy at its worst! It is based on the book "Good Christian B*tches" which is written underneath the title on ABC's website. "GCB" mocks Christianity repeatedly.

This anti-Christian program blasphemes God, Jesus Christ, God's Church, and the Bible. Their actions give damaging and destructive perceptions of our faith. Not only is this program insulting to viewers of faith, it is also degrading to women.

The show continues to use Biblical references, hymns, prayer, and scripture to portray Christians in a negative light. The most offensive content that ran on Easter Sunday included:
• The pastor visits a boobie bar for research on his sermon and hires one of the waitresses to be his church secretary.
• In his sermon titled "Sex is Divine," he encourages everyone to have sex every day for the next week and doesn't specify those who are married only. The dating couples in the congregation smile at each other and later have sex out of wedlock, using the excuse it is what the preacher taught.
• A husband watches porn called "Romancing the Bone" when business is slow at work and tells his wife it is an educational film. She agrees if he continues to learn new moves in bed from it.
• One woman flashes her breast at a courthouse employee for a favor.
• Quote: "Using her boobies for good at least instead of evil this time."

ABC has sunk to an all time low with this program "GCB."

Take Action
Please send an email letter to the sponsors of this week's "GCB" asking that they pull their support immediately. This week's national sponsors were: Subway, Chili's (Brinker), L'Oreal, and Scotts Miracle-Gro.

More issues with GCB ( email from 4/8/12)

OMM Can See the Light at the End of the Tunnel!

Keep up the great work! Every single sponsor that OMM contacted last week decided not to sponsor this week's episode of "GCB." TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Walgreens, and Royal Caribbean have pulled their ads from the Christian-bashing ABC program. Their ads were not present in the most recent episode.
OMM is disgusted with ABC's program "GCB" which is blasphemy at its worst! It is based on the book "Good Christian B*tches" which is written underneath the title on ABC's website. "Good Christian Belles" is seldom used and seems to have been recently dropped in what the acronym stands for. "GCB" mocks Christianity continuously.

This anti-Christian program blasphemes God, Jesus Christ, God's Church, and the Bible. Their actions give damaging and destructive perceptions of our religion. Not only is this program insulting to viewers of faith, it is also degrading to women. Together we will defend our Christian values and beliefs.
The most recent episode of "GCB" aired Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 10/9 Central on ABC with a PG rating.
The show continues to use Biblical references, hymns, prayer, and scripture to portray Christians in a negative light. The fifth episode also included:
• Gossip
• Man naked from the waist down, blurred from viewers
• Making a mockery of marriage
• Nosy, spying, judgmental, blackmailing neighbors
• Gay husband gets another "foreman" and is showing him the ropes at the ranch

ABC has sunk to an all time low with this program "GCB."
